A few of the mirrors don’t have 0.61 yet, so if you get an error downloading try another mirror. I know the Minneapolis and Sydney mirrors have the release, and the others should follow shortly.

Sorry for the trouble 🙂

Welcome to Adium 0.61! This is an particularly exciting release which brings to the table features for which we’ve gotten tons of requests. MSN File Transfer, buddy icons in MSN and Yahoo!, an image picker for setting your own buddy icon from within Adium, and lots of small things. Stability should be even better than 0.60 (which was, to judge from the much-reduced level of crash reports, a step in the right direction), and launch time has been, like the prices at your local used car lot, slashed.

On the GUI side of things, we hope you like the new tab status indicators as much as we do; don’t worry, the insane (but functional) customizability you’ve come to know and love in Adium will come to them in the near future, with the creation of an Adium Xtra pack for tab status icons. As usual, check out the Version history for all the changes, and enjoy! 🙂

Better than a temporary solution, Cerulean Studios fixed the Yahoo authentication problem and shared with the open source community in next to no time. Go team! 🙂

Yahoo! has changed their protocol and Adium is currently unable to connect. We hope to have a temporary solution available soon.

0.60 showed up a few days early, woohoo! 🙂

Adium 0.59 has arrived. Tons of bug and crash fixing in this release, so it should prove pretty nice. 0.59 fixes the issues with crashing on launch and tabs occasionally not appearing, along with many other issues. We’ve also added support for assigning custom icons to contacts, and have added a preference for choosing the tab switching keys.

Big thanks to everyone in #adium last night who helped to make this a better release. Let us know how it goes, enjoy 🙂

Also, keep in mind that the forums and IRC are great ways to get support. We’ve got one of the best user communities of any program out there… and of course those are good ways to find us developers, too. 🙂

Mmm, back to working on medical school applications… Adium X 0.59 coming soon!

In an effort to generate more coding time, I will no longer be responding to every feedback or bug report email we receive. I appreciate the emails, and will definitely continue to read them (relaying the information to the rest of the team and filing issues on our internal list), but they’ve grown too large in number since the initial release of Adium X.

If you’re writing for support, make sure you send mail to support@adiumx.com, genuine support requests get top priority in our email box and will receive a reply.

Feedback and bugs should go to feedback@adiumx.com , and bugs@adiumx.com. Thanks for your understanding 🙂

For the 10.2 users having trouble with the Message preferences: I have wreaked major fixination upon the Message prefs, and everything should work much better in .59. 🙂

On a sidenote, I’m out for a week to be a counselor at a HOBY seminar. I’m curious: are there any other HOBY alumni Adium users out there? If you are, e-mail me: dcclark [at] mtu [dot] edu

I’m happy to announce something wonderful today. But before I get to that, I’d just like to let everyone know that I am finally a High School graduate. I graduated on Saturday from ‘Iolani School. Thanks for all the memories and all the years, guys.

Now that that’s out of the way, I’m pleased to announce Planet Adium. You can view the blogs of Adium developers and contributors, all in one place. Thanks to James Cox for hosting. Be sure to check out Planet IM as well, a Planet for the larger Instant Messaging community.
