I am re-evaluating Adium 2.0’s brushed metal interface. Everyone’s feedback and votes are much appreciated. (Bring your friends!!) 🙂
I’m taking a sort of informal poll of what instant messenger protocols people use on the forums. Here is the list of protocols in the poll:
Just reply to the thread with what you use.

We can now import logs from iChat.
We’re taking advantage of a program by Spiny Software named Logorrhea. Get it here.
Using Logorrhea, go to “Export Chats …” in the file menu.
Export those chats.
This will make a tab-delimeted file with all of your conversations. Then run ichat2adium.pl (get it from Adium’s CVS in the Utilities folder, or here. on the file. Run it by typing “ichat2adium.pl /path/to/iChat\ Export.txt –usernames –primary-user YOUR_USER_NAME”
You might get a few messages about a bad record. This is normal. If you get a bajillion, you might have problems with encoding. (SirFunk did. I didn’t. Not sure why.) In that case, you can use TextEdit to remedy the problem.
Open it in TextEdit, and resave it as UTF-8 encoding, with a different filename. Then run ichat2adium.pl /path/to/new/file
I’ve fixed a few bugs with the new log viewer. The fixes should be in the next binary (Nov 29 or later).
Because one of the bugs involved searching, you’re going to need to reset your Adium log searching indexes. To reset the search index, quit Adium and:
Delete the ‘Adium’ folder from at ~/Library/Caches (From inside your home folder).
Next time you open Adium’s log viewer it will rebuild the index, and all should work 🙂
